American beavers are intimately tied to the survival of trumpeter swans, who nest upon their dens. Trumpeter swans are the third largest North American bird after he California Condor and White Pelican. Those trying to save the swans merely put their efforts into restoring beaver habitat and populations. Save the beaver, save the swan.
